INFORMATION

DeBackere Farms Inc. has been providing fresh produce since 1987. All of our product can be purchased at Metro, Loblaw, Briwood, Smith Fruit, Green City as well as the Toronto food terminal. We also sell to local independent stores and restaurants.

We have a labor intensive operation, with all hand planted, hand-picked and hand packed produce and everything is grown on plastic and drip irrigation. In 2009, we received the Farm Excellence Award from the Municipality of Central Elgin. We strive to have produce early and late into the season, with the use of high tunnel and low tunnel production, as well as floating row covers.

All of our produce is picked fresh daily. We have three farm market locations throughout the area. One is open 7 days a week from July to October and it is located on Dexter Line and Yarmouth Centre Road. We have one in St. Thomas, at the Home Hardware parking lot, on the corner of First Avenue and Wellington Street, open 7 days a week from 10:00am to 5:30pm. The third is at the Horton Farmers Market in St. Thomas, open on Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
